The Waterfall Model

Waterfall Model

The waterfall model gets its name from its sequential process that flows in a downwards motion. This model is often criticised for its inability to take the user into account, generally the user would be unable to navigate the interface without making a mistake. The version on the left is an updated and modified version of the model, the original would be unable to “flow” backwards to be re-edited, this is because its mostly used in instances where it would be to costly and time consuming to go back and re-design, re-build or re-test. When this model was first in effect there were no formal software development methodologies.
